Climate Change: Where are we and where are we going?
After our brief AGM, Prof Hughes will provide an update on how the world's and Australia's climate is changing, and the impacts it is having and will continue to have, with an emphasis on species and ecosystems.
Prof Lesley Hughes is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Integrity and Development) and Distinguished Professor of Biology at Macquarie University. Her research has mainly focused on the impacts of climate change on species and ecosystems.
Prof Hughes is a former federal climate commissioner and was lead author in the IPCC’s fourth and fifth assessment reports. She is also a director for WWF Australia, a member of the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists, the director of the Biodiversity Node for the NSW Adaptation Hub and a member of the expert advisory committee for Future Earth Australia.
