Join in the 2026 City Nature Challenge in the Greater Sydney area. Make observations of wild plants and animals between 24 and 27 April, and take part in the largest community science biodiversity census in the world while helping us better understand – and therefore, take care of – nature that lives in Greater Sydney.

How to take part

• Download the iNaturalist app and make an account.
• Take photos of WILD plants and animals to make observations. If they’re not wild, be sure to mark them as captive/cultivated!
• Upload your observations on the iNaturalist app or upload them to the iNaturalist AU website to share with the iNaturalist community.
